What will be asked of you:
5-10 hours (outside of class time) to actively work on music throughout the week
Online Class Attendance
How Does it Work?
This is what a typical 8 week mentorship might look like: Eight students will be selected for the class based on their original music. Part 1 (Intermediate and Advanced) will walk through the process from songwriting or melody theme writing to production and arrangement. Part 2 (Intermediate and Advanced) will cover production and post production and move into mixing and mastering. During each class, one or more students work will be featured. Eric will work hands on with your music while discussing concepts and techniques in front of the class. During the session there will be opportunity to interact and ask questions as Eric works with your material. Each student is guaranteed two opportunities to have their music featured. All other seven classmates will be able to observe and ask questions as time allows.
Regardless of your skill level, this class is designed for serious students only. You will need to have time to invest OUTSIDE of class time to implement lessons learned. So generally speaking, five to ten hours is recommended outside of class-time.

What Equipment Do I Need?
The following will be required to participate in the program:
A recording platform or DAW (digital audio workstation) to record music. It could be as simple as GarageBand or in depth as Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic, etc.
A decent monitoring setup (Studio speakers preferred, but good head-phones are acceptable)
A mic or microphones to record audio (if using vocals or acoustic instruments)
Sound libraries - If you are a logic user, then the 60 GB sounds avaible with Logic is more than enough. Depending on your particular DAW, you may need more than the default sounds provided.
For Zoom sessions: A computer with headphones and mic. Higher quality headphones are a plus, but not required. If you have studio monitors and a microphone input into Zoom, this is ideal. You will need to download and use the web browser Chrome alongside of Zoom.
A larger monitor screen is highly recommended (1080 or 4k and above) It is difficult to see when using a small screen. Classes are taught with 4k resolution.
Your internet connection is key to a successful session. A download speed of at least 8Mbps is necessary, however speeds above 15Mbps are best. To test your speed on a computer, simply go to http://www.speedtest.net. For iOS devices, download https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/speed-test-speedsmart-wifi/id366593092?mt=8. If you plan on being at a coffee shop with several people on wifi, be sure to do a speed test before arranging a session there.
